Texas has no statewide hot tub permit. Most cities require an electrical permit for a new 240V circuit, some have rules for decks and setbacks, and your HOA may want to review placement, so check your city and HOA before delivery.
What usually needs a permit
- The electrical circuit. Your electrician normally pulls this.
- A new deck or a deck built to hold a tub.
- Fencing or barrier rules for plunge pools in some cities.
HOA review
Most Texas HOAs allow portable hot tubs but ask for an architectural review form showing where it goes and how equipment is screened. We will send spec sheets and drawings for your application.
